I have a pickup appointment for tomorrow - have confirmed with SC that the car is on the truck headed our way. However, I still do not have the blue "review agreements" button on my account to sign docs or submit payment. Have any of you been pushed up to the last minute like this?

I'm optimistic in thinking that once Austin starts shipping, it will allow Fremont to devote exclusively to the West Coast. The key is that Tesla's yearly VIN paperwork has to be submitted to NHTSA 60 days before Austin vehicles can run on public roadways. And Tesla has to tell NHTSA the VIN plant code for Austin ("A", "T", or whatever). "F"=Fremont and "C"=Shanghai. Thus , 5YJ#######MF244xxx is a 2021 Fremont car. And 2022 cars have a year code of "N" instead of "M".

then put Tesla in the Name search field, then sort by Letter Date.
The first submission to include the VIN codes for 2021 models was in August 2020, so I'm guessing that the 2022 models will be in their August 2021 submission.

Based on the past couple of years' paperwork, Tesla should be submitting this month (August). So that probably means November Model Y shipments from Austin. Every car that Austin ships to the East Coast then frees-up a car that Fremont can now deliver to us :)

EDD pushed back one day yet once again but the end date has been sticking, now 8/9 - 8/21
(if my theory is correct, I should get a vin around the 11/12 range..)

Mine finally broke the pattern, but not how I would like. 8/9-8/24 now.
 
I just don't understand how folks who ordered the same car around the same time have had EDDs, amazing early EDDs, and yet we have never had one appear? Did I do something wrong? Test drove at a store. Ordered same day at a store. Completed profile at the store. Submitted the insurance same evening. And all I get is "Maybe by the end of year"... and some are expecting delivery in early September. WTF??

Do the SA's size you up at the store and secretly rate you in the system? "He's likely to buy? He's not! Maybe her, but definitely not her??? She's cute, get her one quickly! He looks like Shrek, back of the queue!!!"

So, our test drive in a MYLR was most successful yesterday. It's the first time I have driven or even sat in a Tesla. We were surprised at how nice it was, inside and outside. The seats were especially comfy. We had plenty of space and it drove very well.
Also, I can see why the MSM color is popular here. It's what we test drove and looks very nice, but we are sticking with blue.

Some questions/comments:

  1. I was surprised there was no way to turn off 1-pedal driving mode, but I've used that before on other cars. It will be harder for my wife to adjust to it, but it will primarily be my car.
  2. I didn't see any acceleration or energy consumption readouts, but drove it more than playing with the screen.
  3. No sun shade, but it was later in the day. I will be driving it to the desert every few weeks, so I will have to see if a supplementary shade will be needed.
  4. My hand gets in the way of the screen, if I drive 10-4 or put my hand on the top. I will need to learn to hold the wheel a bit differently it seems.
  5. It would be nice if the screen was on a TV-type tilting or panning mount or if there was a HUD so it wouldn't interfere.
Alright, back to waiting, reading and watching vids on the MYLR.
 
BAD NEWS...
I was scheduled to pick up tomorrow(Sunday), but this morning I got a call from the Cost Mesa service center that my pick up date needs to be rescheduled to 18th due to imperfections that need to be fixed.
It's really disappointing and I don't really believe that is the real issue, but at least my VIN stayed the same.
I don't mind waiting another 2 weeks, but it's certainly exhausting this time, because I have cleaned up my existing car to sell it this weekend. oh well..

I got an email to schedule my delivery date, I clicked on the link and it said "no appointments available". Has this happened to others? I'm picking up in Costa Mesa.
I called this morning after getting the same memo. The lady was helpful. Appointment setup for this Monday now. Ordered 5/23, hoping the car is in good shape. Light at the end of the tunnel.

Isnt over until the car is in your possession- did you ask the issue?

Just curious how your experience goes tomorrow. My order is only a couple weeks old so I have a long wait ahead of me. Are you picking up in Rocklin? Just curious if the Arden location was also an option or if it's just for service.
