The next big milestone for FSD is 11. It is a significant upgrade and fundamental changes to several parts of the FSD stack including totally new way to train the perception NN.

From AI day and Lex Fridman interview we have a good sense of what might be included.

- Object permanence both temporal and spatial
- Moving from “bag of points” to objects in NN
- Creating a 3D vector representation of the environment all in NN
- Planner optimization using NN / Monte Carlo Tree Search (MCTS)
- Change from processed images to “photon count” / raw image
- Change from single image perception to surround video
- Merging of city, highway and parking lot stacks a.k.a. Single Stack

Lex Fridman Interview of Elon. Starting with FSD related topics.

Here is a detailed explanation of Beta 11 in "layman's language" by James Douma, interview done after Lex Podcast.

Here is the AI Day explanation by in 4 parts.

Here is a useful blog post asking a few questions to Tesla about AI day. The useful part comes in comparison of Tesla's methods with Waymo and others (detailed papers linked).

Almost hate to jinx myself but I'm having 2 major improvements.
  • Not a single dry wipe (please let this continue)
  • Almost no wheel nags.
Today I drove from gym to condo at almost 3 miles in the city (about ¾ mile through a neighborhood but the rest urban) and 0 nags. Also drove several miles on interstates with only 2 nags. Has been rare on nags since update. Should I say "thanks NHTSA" for that? 🤔 🤣

This should be required for it to go non-Beta-but-still-Beta-in-the-manual in the final wide release to the fleet more akin to Autopilot
This "not Beta FSD" Elon is claiming sounds like hyperbole. What exactly does "not Beta" mean? It will still be the same L2 system so saying it is "not Beta" doesn't really change anything (other than improvements)?

FSD would be available to use freely for anyone who has purchased it outright or in subscription form, the Beta tag will be gone from the FSD Suite but Autosteer on City Streets and other modules within FSD will still have Beta disclaimers in the manual just like all the Autopilot modules today with the exception of Summon

This was always Tesla's plan, it will remain Level 2 but immediately accessible to anyone who buys it

The first wave of 2023.44.30.7 seems have started. (A little over 200 reported on TeslaFi, all coming from 2023.44.30.6 so far.)

Hopefully, this version fixes the problems people have been reporting where 2023.44.30.6, on some vehicles, put the FSD computer in a failed state, and disabled the cameras, AP, FSD, etc. (At least I think it was all people on 2023.44.30.6.)

Teslascope has a bit more detail on the pending versions, and it shows 90%+ are indeed from 2023.44.30.6 but there's some vehicles on older versions that have been slow in installing the latest .5/.6 holiday updates. Notably, there's none pending from 2023.44.30.5.1, which only included HW2.5/3 vehicles, and so far all TeslaFi installations for this newest version seem to be HW4. Presumably, it's not specifically HW4 FSD Beta 11.4.9 related as there's installs in countries outside of US/Canada.

Perhaps it's intended for 2023/2024 HW4 USS-less vehicles fixing some issue with high fidelity park assist?

Have any more info on this? I just did the infotainment upgrade to MCU2 and was told I have HW3 in my 16’ MX 75D. Got some odd error msgs and cannot use any voice commands. No indication was provided to “calibrate” cameras but I just did a reset on them so I’ll have more info in the next 100m or so
