Hi everyone,

The other thread (Pack Performance and Launch Mode Limits) has reached 167 pages and the data is getting buried in the discussion. I wanted to start a new thread just for posting data documenting the amount of power everyone is losing with the latest software update.

Details of the latest Tesla firmware fiasco are available in these articles:
Tesla’s latest update only allows performance vehicles to reach max power on ‘Launch Mode’

Please post the following data points:

here are my current numbers -- went out just now in Ludicrous+ mode, battery heated. no launch mode. peaked at 556kw about 5 times in a row going from stopped or slow roll to about 70mph. the peak power seems to be right around 55 - 60mph, and it was sustaining 550kw up to at least 82mph.

Newest software release:
17.6.15
Power with ludicrous (@ SOC%): Didn't test.
Power with ludicrous and max battery ready (@ SOC%): 556 kW @ 95% SOC
Power with ludicrous, max battery ready and launch mode (@SOC%): Didn't test.

i know i have hit 570kw before, but i believe that was in launch mode. didn't get a chance to use launch mode today to compare. it was also pretty cold out. last time i tested it was warm. dunno if that has an effect.

Running PowerTools and recently TM-Spy CAN bus.

Will fill in more data when available.

Addendum to my post #10 above... I installed my new Racelogic Vbox tonight, charged to 90% SOC, and performed a new test with Vbox and TM-Spy on CAN bus.

Newest software release: 17.9.3
Power with ludicrous (@ SOC%): 549kW@88%
Test performed 3-29-2017 (no plus)
Power with ludicrous and max battery ready (@ SOC%): not done.
Power with ludicrous, max battery ready and launch mode (@SOC%): not done.

Vbox tests with 1 foot rollout. No launch mode.
0-60 feet: 1.6 sec
0-60 mph: 2.6 sec
30-50 mph: 1.0 sec
50-70 mph: 1.3 sec
Peak longitudinal acceleration: 1.29 G

Still haven't got car to go into launch mode yet. I get the "both pedal pressed" error which slows the 0-60 mph run to 2.8 - 3.0 sec. need practice.

Overnight will install the latest software update. Hope it doesn't screw anything up.

Here are some graphs using VBoxTools.com analysis of 0-60 mph test result posted above. Vbox attempts to calculate wheel hp from acceleration data with car weight, wheel+tire inertia (& drag coefficient & area). I posted my inputs 5230 Lbf weight etc.

working on getting an iphone for powertools. teslalog.com is regularly dropping WOT runs data.

Is this with your new battery or still on a loaner?

My 2012 is out for swap on the battery and I have the same part number listed. I'm told specifically that my pack is out for a rebuild and I will be swapping back, but it will be "months" before the pack is rebuilt.

I told them I was planning on selling the car and they said go ahead, when the pack is ready, they will just contact the new owner.

I have data logging cables, but I haven't used them in over a year. Can someone tell me what the current state of data logging software is for the Model S? What should I be using to log the data now?

Do you have iPhone or android? Powertools on iPhone / iPad is probably the easiest, but only logs at about 4 samples / second.

TM-Spy logs through a bluetooth interface w/ CANBUS. It can log at 100 samples / second, but is harder to use.
