Got caught in the sydney hailstorm yesterday. Towels didn't save the tesla from a beating. Golf ball sized hail has left golf ball sized dents.... so sad
First 3rd party app that I know of Tesla owners now have an even more obsessive companion app
Question is, would you give a third party access to your car?
Great to see this innovative association with a retail store in Australia.

A Ludocurious Lite mode would be a popular download. Could be a good way for Tesla to get more money out of the new S60's or S75's. I'm sure with software tweaks they could get the 0-100 time for the 60/75 down to near 5 seconds flat. I'd pay $2000 for that. Which else 60/75 owners would?! Cheers
Cleaned the inside of the rear screen yesterday, with a clay bar and lubricant. A very gentle run over turned the, previously white, clay bar to black!! THAT's where all the dust accumulates. Amazing how much dirt comes of a "clean" screen after a year's running with a gentle clay bar rub...
Anyone have any luck in Melbourne using AP2? Tried today on the Monash (near Toorak Rd, heading down to the Penisula), and I was told it was unavailable on that road. Any confirmation on where to use it?
There's some videos in other threads of the Blackvue installed in US Model Xs. Anyone done it in sydney yet? Would be good to find an installer who knows what they are doing. Also a group buy might help.
Now that deliveries have started, its probably worth while having a thread to help us new owners navigate through any issues...
Delivery experience was just ok, they were pushing a lot of cars through so attention to detail was a little light on. There were a few marks from the shipping wrap...
Those travelled to or located on Gold Coast, what are the best options for charging? Will arrive with about 30kw left and staying for 2 nights, need 50kw to get home to Sunshine Coast.
Only have 10amp charger, so will try to use hotel power, but not sure what they have available yet.
Thanks
hi all, I am keen to learn where you recommend to have your cars washed in Melbourne, on that, can any of you recommend paint correction providers. Any pics before and after are greatly appreciated.
With Melbourne to Brisbane route largely complete and the Adelaide route underway, a big gap in the supercharging infrastructure is Eastern Victoria. Without one in say Sale, access to that part of the state is extremely limited. One in Bright and at the Base of Mt Buller would be great too.
Im trying to get my head around the merits of a second charger for long trips outside superchargers. Say you can drive/charge for 15 hrs max per day & have a 90D 20degC no A/C in use. 8 hrs to charge.@ 11kWs 4 hrs at 22kW driving one person.
Single charger 70 kphr range 732ks 10.4 hrs driving...
The next QLD TOCA meetup is this coming Saturday 4th Feb at Macadamia Castle.
The plan is to meet at the Macadamia Castle Supercharger at around 11am next Saturday. Aside from soaking in some free electrons, Macadamia Castle is a great place to stop and have a bite to eat and relax, especially...
Looks like the base price for a Model S in Australia has increased.
Previously a NSW delivery Model S 60 with no options was 118k with no referral code.
Today I see it is 124k.
Hi all, I'm seriously looking at buying a 2015 Model S 85D in the next couple of weeks from a private seller, is there anyone that can help with:
1) What support there is in Perth from Tesla.
2) A good insurance company that doesn't charge an absolute fortune.
3) What warranty I should make...
Hi guys, quick question, what kind of charging rates do you get on your Teslas 60/75s in particular? Saw a 608km/hr yesterday which I thought was above spec. Also when do your 60 batteries start tapering, I saw a drop off at 75% charge down to mid/high 500km/hr?
Cheers (chose Aussie forum for...
Seems like a good time to buy with Model 3 on horizon and excitement building and the Trump effect. If you have, what platform do you use? The regular banks don't seem to trade American based shares. Thanks
I need a mechanic in adelaide I can trust with a Tesla door handle install. About a month ago my rear passenger door handle on my S stopped presenting. The handles have always been a bit temperamental and Tesla had said they would look at them at the next service visit but now the handle was...
My EV sticker is coming off in the middle of the number plate from heat or dampness I guess. I just tried to remove the cover from the bottom and pressed the tabs but with moderate force it's stuck tight and I don't want to break it, any ideas? Thanks
I have been advised that fees apply from Feb.

Hi
I'm aware of the "parts for sale" thread on the main forums, but I assumed that Australian sales would be swamped on that US-centric forum. So mods, move this if it seems differently to you.

Hi all
Doing the loop. Overnight @ Horsham & pass through Melbourne. If any Melbournians are up for brunch tomorrow we're keen!

Just dropped into Keith - no ground works yet on the supercharger.

Hi all,
I will be visiting Australia for the first time in the second half of November (flying into Sydney) and wondered if anyone who might be in Northern California in that timeframe might be interested in a Tesla swap.
I live about 15 minutes from the SF airport so logistics should be...
Got an email from Tesla on Wednesday telling me that my car has arrived in Aus but that they have still not sorted homologation. They hope to be able to register the car within two weeks.
Is this just poor management by Tesla? They've known these cars we're coming for 2 years +. What do other...
So Tesla are now offering 100D as a battery upgrade on the configurator under the 90D (for the X at least). Previously you could only get the 100kWh battery with the performance model.
Reports from the US suggest price differential of $3k USD which should translate to approximately $4k AUD...
I'm thinking about longer road trips in my Tesla now and just wonder if breaking down in say Brisbane with a drive train problem, would the only option be trucking it to Sydney? And the cost of trucking would be ours?

Tesla releases the details of its new Supercharger Credit program
Although 35 cents per unit is a little higher than I would have expected it still works out at around half the cost per distance driven compared to a full size petrol sedan, this makes the AGL $1.00 a day a little bit more...
I am going for a swim at the beach.... l do not want to take fob or iPhone with me, so can you intentionally lock fob and iPhone in car? And then unlock car with waterproof Apple Watch when back at car and watch can sense iPhone?
Has anyone tried this??
A while back I was in contact with TMC member about a road trip from Adelaide to Alice Springs/Uluru. Looking at Google Maps this is a 1500+km trip. The waypoints appear to be Port Augusta 305km, Pimba 479km, Glendambo 591km, Coober Pedy 845km, Marla 1078km, Erldunda 1331km and then Alice 1531km...
On the recent Brisbane - Melbourne - Brisbane trip, the 'grab the wheel' popup irresistibly reminds me of 'Whack a Mole'.
Sometimes I get a proper score (before the white surround) and some times a side (after the white); but always before the tone - after all who wants to be knocked out of the...
My wife and I have 4 days off together coming up. We are looking for a trip family friendly short break maximum 5 hours from Melbourne and doable in a Tesla, so near charging! Happy to camp or hotel it. Any ideas?! Many thanks!
just returned from a road trip to Victoria. Autopilot worked well most of the time. However and this happened more than once and on various expressways, the correct speed limit of 110 was displayed, AP cruising at that speed, when for no discernible reason message flashes up AP RESTRICTED TO...
Until now Tesla Australia have taken the approach of building major SC routes based on spacings of around 200 km to allow convenient shorter rest, recharge and revive stops every 2 hrs or so. This model is based on that of more populated areas such as Europe, Asia and North America and is based...
Recently almost all charging has been in the 60% to 80% area, the 85 pack was due for a range charge and seeing as we had a free day it was a good opportunity to get a few questions answered.
Question 1. What has been the loss of usable capacity?
Question 2. How far can this car go on a charge...
Well today we got bogged in loose sandy soil. We have a block of rural land and we usually drive around the paddock off-road with very high suspension with no problem. Today I got onto some soft sandy soil on a bit on an incline upwards and the next minute the wheels were slipping and digging...
How would you Tesla drivers like to have total dedicated control over your regen braking.
ie a third pedal next to the brake pedal in the same place a clutch pedal would be.
As impossible as this would be to actually install in a Model S we are only hypothesising about having the ability to...
Hey guys would love recommendations for window tinting in Melbourne. Preference for Brunswick area or the peninsula. Also if anyone has had any chrome deleting done here? Thanks
