In California as far as I know we don’t need to do anything. We sign the paperwork and send it back in the UPS envelope given by Tesla and they (or a third party on their behalf) take care of registering and sending us the license plates. At least this is the way it worked with every other car. Hopefully Tesla is not waiting on me doing something (other than signing and sending those forms to delivery center overnight).

Oh that's a dream! In nevada we have to do it on our own. We get 1 month from pickup date to register. I received the email from Tesla on Monday that I was able to register the car so I scheduled my appt on Tuesday.

When it works. And given how disorganized Tesla is as an organization, that's not a given. There are quite a few horror stories on TMC where the ball got dropped and it is apparently not easy to chase the backend department responsible for registration.

Applying for a loan through Tesla, but it keeps saying "technical error - unable to load account details." Anyone run into this issue before?

I would suggest holding on switching to finance until you get your VIN. They're able to do it over the phone with you. I've been told it'll come within a week, and I was VIN'd 2+ weeks later.

I got my VIN over the weekend. I'm picking it up tomorrow morning at the Burbank, CA location. Fingers crossed I don't have any build issues. Does anyone have a checklist they trust?

true, but I think now as long as there arent any major issues, people will still take the car. my buddy ordered is MYP back on 11/4 and now it’s pushed to June. he’s so furious

They said if I don't take it off of hold by Feb 10th 2022 or if
I put it on hold again they will cancel the order.
I put in my order 8/14/2021
I have no idea when they will give me a VIN.
I am hoping to get the 4680 batteries.
I told them I am willing to pick up the car in Texas.
It doesn't sound like they are interested in my wishes.

Does anyone know how to try to get the 4680 batteries?

Yes. Here is the easy 4 step plan to get your 4680 car from Texas.
1. Cancel current order.
2. Move to Eastern US.
3. Wait until Tesla starts shipping 4680 cars to Eastern US.
4. Place new order with Tesla.
