How long does it normally take from entering the address to receiving the black wall connector?

Excellent question -- but it also assumes one key point, has anyone actually received the black wall connector referral prize yet?

AFAIK, nobody has received one yet, so there's no answer on how long it takes. I'm sure we'll be seeing pictures of them online as soon as they start shipping.

I submitted a request to the referral program back on December 12 asking when the referral configuration emails would be sent out. I finally got a response today, 1/19/18. In the meantime, I have received all of my referral configuration emails and I've configured them all already. The response I got from Tesla Referral is that my 2nd award (Black HPWC) has been shipped. My 3rd award (Arachnid wheels) are preparing for shipment. So...my HPWC may be arriving soon. We'll see.

I finally got a reply from Tesla regarding the e-mails for the referral prizes not coming through. Turns out, they have been going to someone else. An e-mail I've never seen before and the person who responded told me to check it, even though I stated which e-mail address it should have gone to (listed in my tesla). Either Tesla really just doesn't care, or people are just lazy with this.

It's not going to the email associated with your Tesla account? That's bizarre.

Not sure if this has been discussed before, but doesn’t it seem weird that if you got your second referral order before the prize changes midway through the current form of the program and then you get your fifth referral to order after the changes, you get 2 solar tokens? That’s exactly what happened to me today. I got an unexpected referral today as my fifth. What am I going to do with two solar tokens let alone one? I wish I could at least get the wall charger.

@Shuji Yup. Sucks. Same boat here.

What I'd like to see (but probably won't happen) is a simple credit/menu system.
1 credit gets you the leather weekender bag or a jacket
2 credit gets you the black wall charger, Radio Flyer, Solar token, or one "next reveal" invite
3 credits gets you a set of wheels+tires
4 credits gets you the powerwall

But the awards are NOT cumulative. So if you get four referral credits, you can cash them in for one powerwall or TWO wall chargers, etc. If you get eight referral credits, you can get two powerwalls, or one powerwall, one black WC, one weekender bag and one jacket. This way, you get to decide which awards you want to "save up for" or cash them all in early for the smaller awards.

And put a limit of 10 or 15 referrals per quarterly phase. And make it very clear which prizes are exchangeable for "Tesla Credits" up front (like the Powerwall or Wheel packages). And make it clear which prizes are transferrable to other people (the wall charger, Radio Flyer, Solar token, and wheels) and which ones are definitely NOT (the Powerwall or the reveal invites). Also, credits do not roll-over from phase to phase. They can have an expiration date, say you need to redeem them for the prizes during that phase within six months.

I think this would go A LONG way at eliminating the confusion a lot of people have over redeeming the awards. For instance, some people might want to wait until the end of the phase to see how many referral points they've accumulated BEFORE claiming a prize. Say if I had three referral points, I'd definitely NOT want another set of Arachnid wheels, and would go for the wall charger and a weekender bag (even though the wheels might be worth more, they are a hassle to transport and sell).

Here is the response that I recently received from Tesla ...

Hi, Thank you for contacting us regarding the Tesla Referral Program.

I have placed you on our exchange list to receive a Signature Black Wall Connector. These are currently in production and will begin shipping over the next few months. Customers who originally qualified will receive shipment first, followed by communication to customer's who are on the exchange list. There is no ETA at this time.

Please let us know if you have any additional questions or concerns.

Great idea, but like you, I doubt anything close to this will come to fruition.

Yeah my email took about 3 months. But I never chased them. Chasing them could push it through I guess.

Thanks for this. I just got an e-mail from someone different in the Tesla referral programme claiming that they had sent me two e-mails and that I could choose my rewards. Well, I certainly did not receive any e-mails! I've replied, asking them to give dates and times and inform me how I should proceed.

The whole setup seems a complete shambles, as far as I can tell.
